Net art is a tool of connection, allowing artists to express themselves freely without feeling marginalized by other artists. The internet is one big web of connection, www , the world wide web is pretty accurate in its description. You can interact with people from across the globe. Where in real life it would be pretty much impossible, and probably really expensive. The internet opened up a new world to artists, allowing them to make and share art online and be accessed by whoever they want. It was also a way for people to express their opinions, which were somewhat controversial at times, without having to face the backlash of it and also not be directly associated with it if they chose to stay anonymous.Net art is also somewhat mischievous because it was connected to hacking and coding, artist would make tricks with code.  Net art also has many different forms, like it could be code, or a web browser, or even a web adventure. For example “at 404.jodi.org, , the visitor is prompted to type an entry into the site’s dialogue boxes. But whatever one submits will get hacked, as 404 regurgitates all the vowels or posts the user’s IP address onscreen. Jodi.org speaks to you and your machine in the language of network and hardware. The internet grew exponentially and quickly became culturally significant, even in the world of economics. Artist Paul Garrin created the project Name.Space. It was a way for users to be more educated on the site they were on (like .org for organization or .edu for education/schools). It was also used as away for the monopolization of web addresses.
