Artist Statement
This project was really tough on me. I am new to video editing and I am pretty uncomfortable on camera. But I wanted to make a video about something that I enjoy, which is skiing. It was really challenging working with after effects and premier pro but as I used it more the more I got the hand of it. I wanted to add some sprinkles of my personality, like in the first changing scene, I am in Hannah Montanas Closet. It is a show that me and my sisters would watch when we were kids and I immediately thought of it when I was editing the scene. The pocket sandwich, I got that from my roommate, Sadie, who always makes a sandwich for herself for when we go skiing, mainly because food at ski resorts are so expensive. Editing this took me a long time and I will admit there were some tears. I am not exactly proud of it but I appreciate it because it taught me about video editing and allowance in being creative in a new medium. It definitely showed me that video editing is not as scary as I thought it was and that practice helps it be less scary. I am glad that this project opened the door of video editing to me and its a nice tool to have in my toolbox
